My professional focus includes advanced techniques in abdominal wall reconstruction, colorectal surgery, and metabolic surgery, with a strong commitment to innovation, education, and surgical quality improvement. Currently, I serve as Chief of the Department of Surgery at Clínica Iberoamérica in Barranquilla, Colombia, and as an attending surgeon at Clínica Portoazul, leading initiatives in trauma and acute care surgery. I am certified in da Vinci robotic systems (Standard and Xi) and actively promote the safe and effective use of robotic platforms across Latin America. Throughout my career, I have held prominent academic and leadership roles, including Director of a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship, Governor of the Venezuelan Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and surgical faculty at major universities. My publications include peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and I’ve received multiple awards for contributions to surgical education and innovation.
