Amy Laktash, MSN, APRN, NP-C, FASMBS-IH, is a Nurse Practitioner at FlyteHealth, a tech-enabled healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and cost-effective obesity treatment. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Miami University and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron. Amy is board-certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). With over 15 years of experience in healthcare, Amy spent more than a decade in metabolic and bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, where she served as both a nurse practitioner and clinical coordinator for MBSAQIP, leading quality and patient safety initiatives. Amy is a Fellow of the ASMBS Integrated Health (IH) Section. She currently serves as the IH Executive Officer for the ASMBS Ohio/Kentucky State Chapter and the IH State Access to Care Representative. Additionally, Amy is an active member of the ASMBS Access to Care, Quality Improvement & Patient Safety, and Clinical Issues Committees. Amy has completed both the ASMBS Advanced Practice Provider Assessment-Based Certificate and the AANP Certificate in Obesity Management Fundamentals. She is a member of several professional organizations, including The Obesity Society, Obesity Medicine Association, Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. A frequent speaker on topics related to obesity medicine and metabolic and bariatric surgery, Amy is passionate about scaling access to comprehensive, evidence-based, and affordable obesity care.
