Troy Glembot, MD, MBA, CPE, FACS, FASMBS is the Medical Director of the Valley Health Metabolic and Bariatric Program. A native of Warrenton, VA, he attended Bridgewater College where he was a double major in Biology and Chemistry. He then attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA where he received his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency and research fellowship. In 2010 he received an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business. In addition to his civilian career, Dr. Glembot was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Virginia Army National Guard where he served as a Medical Corps Officer. He was deployed to Afghanistan where he served as Chief of Surgery at Bagram Airfield in 2004. He has been deployed twice to Iraq; once as a Field Surgeon and most recently in 2009-2010 as a Battalion Surgeon. Dr. Glembot is a member and Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, a member and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an Assistant Clinical Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. He served as Chair, Department of Surgery until 2023. His clinical interests include robotic assisted laparoscopic foregut and bariatric surgeries as well as revisional bariatric surgery. He is board certified in general surgery and is board certified in medical management.
