I have been a general surgeon and bariatric surgeon for the past 25 years. I have been fortunate to see and implement many changes in bariatric surgery during this time. Changes include going from open procedures to now most procedures are able to be performed with minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic surgery for the past 25 years. I have also implemented the da Vinci robotic system for bariatric surgery for the past 14 years. There have been many changes and procedures over the years as well. I perform orimarily sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass but also perform biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch procedures or single anastomosis duodenal switch. Revisional procedures after previous bariatric proceures are also performed. I have been involved with many bariatric programs in the past but strongly believe that her current program at Community is able to offer patients most comprehensive support both before and after surgery.
