Jamokay Taylor, MD FACS FASMBS

Dr. Taylor is a board certified, Bariatric Surgeon with over a decade of general surgery and advanced laparoscopic bariatric experience. A dedicated bariatric surgeon, he devotes 100% of his practice to bariatric surgery and the care of bariatric patients. Dr. Taylor has performed more than 6,000 bariatric procedures. Dr. Taylor is a native of Washington D.C. He attended the University of Maryland for his undergraduate studies earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 1995. Dr. Taylor matriculated into the University of Maryland School of Medicine and received his medical degree in 1999. Thereafter, he moved to Michigan for his 5 year general surgical residency at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center serving as Chief Resident between 2003-2004. Dr. Taylor became interested in bariatric surgery while a Chief Resident, after witnessing the significant, positive impact that bariatric surgery had on the lives of patients. After residency he joined the Center for Obesity Related Illnesses, a busy bariatric surgery practice and for several years gained significant experience in both open and advanced laparoscopic bariatric surgery.rnrnDr. Taylor now serves as the Medical Director of the Warrenton Weight Loss Institute, a comprehensive bariatric surgery health care center. Warrenton Weight Loss Institute is associated with a larger bariatric care facility that is recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence that has performed over 40,000 bariatric procedures since the mid 1990's. Dr. Taylor is board certified in general surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. He belongs to a wide variety of medical professional organizations, including Michigan State Medical Society, Wayne County Medical Society, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
