Introduction

It is crucial that patients considering or pursuing bariatric surgery are well informed about the care they receive and the role they play in reaching and maintaining optimal surgical outcomes. This section contains resources for educating the metabolic and bariatric surgical patient about various aspects of the preoperative, perioperative and postoperative process. An outline is created with items that may need to be included for your patient facing documents, along with a list of necessary resources and possible examples of various types of these resources.  The needs of each clinic will be different, and these resources are provided as a guide only.
