Foundation Events

Since 2003, the ASMBS Foundation’s Walk from Obesity has grown to be the largest national walkathon to support the treatment of the disease of obesity, with 737 Walks held to date! Though this is a great feat, many more steps still need to be taken. As members of ASMBS, we must continue to grow this program to match or surpass the walkathons we see in our communities for other diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and more. As we know, obesity is the root cause of many of these diseases. If you have never hosted a Walk or have not in a while, I invite you to join us in 2023 as we commemorate twenty years of this great program. Together, we will continue to make a difference! – Carl Pesta, DO, FASMBS, ASMBS Foundation President
