The Integrated Health Multidisciplinary Care Committee of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) has sent the first part of the survey to its members.
We would like to invite you to participate in a survey that will explore the roles and responsibilities fulfilled by the professionals who provide essential healthcare services to our bariatric surgery patients. Ultimately, we hope to increase awareness of the comprehensive, coordinated, and integrated nature of bariatric healthcare. Our discipline-specific surveys are relatively brief and include disciplines in the areas of nursing, exercise, nutrition, obesity medicine, surgery and behavioral health. Providers should on average complete their surveys in 10 to 20 minutes. We will gratefully be asking practice managers to distribute and coordinate the surveys for their respective providers.
We would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to help us achieve what we believe is a very important goal in this era of rapidly evolving and somewhat uncertain national healthcare policy.
By now you should have received an email inviting you to identify the coordinators of your associated bariatric surgery programs practices. This email includes detailed instructions on how to access and complete a brief questionnaire. You will subsequently receive a set of survey links via email and your discipline-specific survey will be forwarded to you shortly thereafter.
Your participation is critical for the success of sharing the role Integrated Health plays in optimizing patient outcomes and success!
If you have not received this survey please contact Barbara Peck at ASMBS. Email Barbara here.
